The drawings above were created using 2B and 3B graphite pencils and an eraser together on smooth cartridge paper.
I’ve found that by drawing a little and then using an eraser over the top of the graphite, a fine film is produced on the paper. Layering of this film and graphite gives the drawing a more photographic effect.

The beautiful dog shown here is a Dalmatian called General. He’s an example of one of my drawings. General’s family loved him dearly and commissioned me to draw a portrait of him, which I’m told sits proudly in their living room. Unfortunately, General passed away not too long ago and his family were heartbroken. When I was designing this book cover for a college assignment I took the opportunity to pay my small tribute to General by placing his portrait on the cover.
